Geography:Ketchem is located in central Idaho and it is due East of Boise.
Climate:It has an average temperature of mid 50's to low 60's and has a general overcast.



Transportation:We will arrive in Ketchum via a flight from Cuba. We will then use a rented car the rest of the time.

Information:Ketchum, Idaho is a quaint little town. It is a calm place where people can go to focus on their lives and anything else on their minds. It is the last place on our schedule and a nice place to end.


Activities:Now you are back in the U.S.! But what are you gonna do in Ketchum, Idaho besides eat potatoes? Well you could try to do some skiing. Idaho is in the Rocky Mountains and would be a great place to try to ski. You can also visit the Sun Valley Food and Wine Festival. This festival is a local favorite and a good place to spend the day. Lastly, to end our journey, you can go to the house where Ernest Hemingway decided to end his life. This site compiles a lot of historical relevance into it.

Baracoa

September 25th - 27th




Geography:Baracoa is located towards the Southeastern most tip of Cuba. It is in the Guantanomo distirict.
Climate:Baracoa is a sunny city that can reach in to the mid 80's and even the 90's.


Transportation:We will drive to Baracoa from Havana and we will use that same car while we are there.

Information:Baracoa is a typical Cuban town with a lot going on. It has a thriving downtown district with a great location in order to get to the nearby beaches and other tourist attractions.



Activities:While staying in Baracoa, you can really take a quick retreat from life. You can visit the local beaches as well as get to know your American culture again at Guantanamo Bay. This site is home to America's largest Naval force on the East Coast.

Havana

September 22nd -24th



Geography:Havana is located on the North Coast of Cuba. It is approximately 90 miles South of Florida.
Climate:Cuba sports an average temperature of 80 degrees and it is always sunny!



Transportation:We will fly to Havana via a flight from Venice. We will rent a car in Havana for the rest of our stay in Cuba.

Information:Havana is a bustling city on the island of Cuba. It is full of beaches, resorts, and ocean front housing. It is the perfect place to try to get away and get some real "R & R" for a while.

It has forts like the Fortaleza San Carlos de la Cabana from the exploration period of Spain to the statue El Cristo de la Habana built by the Cuban Missionaries in the late 1800's. Venice

September 19th - 21st



Geography:Venice is located on the East Coast of Italy and directly North of Rome and Vatican City.
Climate:It is generally in the mid 70's with scattered cloud cover and sunshine.



Transportation:We are flying into Vencie from Kampala. We will use a taxi boat while we are in the city.

Information:Venice is the known as a water city. It is basically built on water since its main means of transportation is a gondola in a canal. This Italian town is an architectural and engineering power house. The ability of the Italian people to function in this environment is a spectacle to see.



Activities:Venice is and can be your paradise if you know what to do. An opportunity at hand is visiting the Piazza San Marco. This Piazza located in the market area is a spot of commerce and gathering. Another thing is the signature of Venice, which is a Gondola ride in the Grand Canal. The Grand Canal is the major waterway in all of the city. The last opportunity in the city is the Venice Art Biennale. This art show is one of the best in the region is brings people from all over to attend it.

Uganda

September 16th - 18th



Geography:Uganda is located in East-Central Africa and directly West of Kenya. It is also directly North of Lake Victoria.
Climate:The temperatures in Uganda usually reach around 90 degrees and get a whole lot of sunlight.



Transportation:We arrive in Uganda with our Safari driver Tikimbi. He will be our method of travel while in Uganda.

Information:This country was originally placed under the East India Trading Company of Britain. It has many religious influences from European missionaries. The people of this country are generally hard-nosed and are good at fending for themselves.




Activities:While in Uganda you may participate in many activities. Some include visiting Lake Victoria. This lake filters into the great Nile River and into the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile, another good tourist attraction, spans almost half of Africa and is the longest river in the world. Lastly, to get an idea on the culture in Uganda, you can go spend the day with United Nations and Red Cross members as the attempt to aid the local Swahili people.

Geography:Kenya is located on the East Coast of Africa in between Ethiopia and Tanzania.

Information:Originally colonized by the Portuguese, Kenya is one of the centers for pre-evolution excavation. It has given scientists many clues to our puzzled past with artifacts and other ancient findings. This poor and desolate country is also known for pumping out Olympic track and field champions.



Activities:While in this East African country you can do many things. One is that you can watch a local cricket match. Cricket is an English sport that migrated over with the effect of colonization in Africa. Also, Mt. Kilimanjaro is just South of Kenya and it is the highest point in Africa. A final thing that you can do is visit the Snake Park and Aquarium. Africa is home to some of the most dangerous animals in the world!

Information:Located in central France, it has two islands cut off by the Seine and has many historic sites that are both great in regards to architecture and historical impact.

It has portraits such as the Mona Lisa and statues of famous Greek philosophers. There is the Notre Dame cathedral in the centre of town as well. It is famous for its architecturally sound flying buttresses. Lastly, the is the wonder of the world, The Eiffel Tower. This tower, built from iron, is approximately 325 meters high.

Pamplona

September 7th -9th


Geography:Pamplona is a city located towards the Northern Coast of Spain and almost directly Southwest of the Spanish-French boarder.
Climate:Pamplona is approximately 60 degrees year round and usualy has sunshine with some form of overcast.



Transportation:We will be taking a train from Valencia to Pamplona and then we will be renting a car to get around the city.

Information:Located in the center of the Navarre district, Pamplona is an old city with cobble stone streets and medieval architecture. It is known locally for its prestigious universities and geographical position along the banks of the Ebro tributary, the Arga.



Activities:There are a wide variety of things to do while in Pamplona. One of which could be attending a soccer game (football) by the local team, the CA Osasuna. Another activity includes the world renown Running of the Bulls. This spectacle showcases locals and foreigners alike as they test their luck while literally "running with the bulls" up, down, around, and through the streets of Pamplona. Lastly, you will be able to watch an original bullfight. These bullfights are preformed exactly as they were a hundred years ago.

Valencia

September 4th - 6th



Geography:Valencia, meaning strength, is located on the East Coast of Spain right on the Meditteranean Sea.
Climate:The climate is approximately 75 degrees year round with little precipitation and a lot of sunshine.



Transportation:We are flying into Valencia from Chicago and then we will rent a car to get around the city.

Information:Valencia, meaning "strength and valor", is a city on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. It has been home to Visigoths, Moors, and Romans alike. This has allowed it to obtain a vast culture and many unique cathedrals and gardens. It is home to heroes such as "El Cid" and Pope Alexander VI.



Activities:Valencia is a fun packed city with an explosion of culture. The first main event that you could attend is the annual La Tomatina (Tomato Fight) festival. Let's just say it can get a little messy. The next is the Fallas Fesival. This festival incorporates the use of fireworks and skilled artistic abilities. A third thing that is available is the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencias. The "City of Arts and Science" is worldly renown for its vast and unique exhibits.

Oak Park

September 1st - 3rd



Geography:The entire village of Oak Park lies on the shore of the ancient Lake Chicago, which covered most of the city of Chicago during the last Ice Age and is today called Lake Michigan. It is approximately 9 miles West of Chicago.
Climate:It is generally around 60 degrees during the day and mostly cloudy.



Transportation:We live in Oak Park so our car is our method of transportation.
Transportation Costs:It will be the cost of gasoline.....approximately $3.25 per gallon.



Accommodations:The house were we live.

Information:Oak Park is best known for its Prairie Style houses that were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and that it is the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway. It has many up and coming schools with a great community behind them. It's a great place to live and stay for an extended amount of time.



Activities:Wrigley Field-Cubs games are a frequent medium of entertainment for locals in the area. Sears Tower-This tower is the tallest tower in America. It has an observation deck that is 412 meters above the ground. Navy Pier-This pier is 1010 meters long and has a carnival like atmosphere with carousels and a large Ferris wheel. It is one of the premier things to do in all of Chicago.
